Together In Faith 9/11/11

9/6 Lecture/Panel Discussion: with Dr. Robert Hunt on Tuesday, September 6th at 7:00pm at First United Methodist Church. Dr. Hunt is the Director of Global Theological Education at Perkins School of Theology, Southern Methodist University and teaches courses in World Religions, Inter-religious Dialogue, and Mission.

9/6, 9/7. and 9/11 Children's Interfaith Choir:Denton area children (ages 6 through 11) are invited to sing Let There Be Peace on Earth. Participants should plan to attend at least one of the rehearsals at First United Methodist Church. Rehearsals are September 6th and 7th from 7:00pm to 8:30pm.

Exploring Faiths Exhibit and Peacemakers Living Wax Museum: All are invited to a series of exhibits for children, youth and adults, representing different world religions and peacemakers throughout history. It will take place on Saturday, September 10th from 12:00pm to 3:00pm at Denton Unitarian Universalist Fellowship, 1111 Cordell St. in Denton.

9/11 Adult Interfaith Choir (ONE rehearsal only): All are invited to sing Randall Thompson's The Last Words of David and Irving Berlin's Give Me Your Tired, Your Poor. A thirty-minute rehearsal will be in the choir loft in the Sanctuary promptly at 5:00pm on Sunday, September 11th. Copies of music will be available at the rehearsal. John Priddy, Director of Music at First United Methodist Church will direct.

9/11 Interfaith Service of Remembrance and Hope: in a spirit of peace and hope, Denton area congregations are gathering together to remember the 9/11 attacks. All are welcome to this special interfaith service on Sunday, September 11th at 6:00pm at First United Methodist Church, 201 S. Locust St. in Denton.
