Varied Ways to Celebrate the Season

The winter holidays are upon us and we have special opportunities to gather, to celebrate and to reflect. All are welcome to attend one, two or all three of these events which will take place at Denton Unitarian Universalist Fellowship.

Winter sunrise-1Yule/Winter Solstice Celebration
led by Denton Covenant of Unitarian Universalist Pagans
Saturday, December 21
Gathering begins at 7:00 PM and the ritual begins promptly at 7:30

On this longest night, we turn our minds to the waning of the dark and the growing strength of the light. As we celebrate this season of tradition with new beginnings, new hopes and new dreams, take a moment out of the cold and dreary winter to embrace the possibilities of the year to come. Children 10 and older who can participate respectfully are welcome to attend with a parent/guardian. Childcare can be arranged if requested no later than December 17.  Please bring a dish to share for the potluck after the ceremony.  Donations of a dollar or three to defray costs are welcome but not required.  For questions or information, please contact John Beckett at JohnFranc@aol.com or 972-948-9211.  Come experience the mystery of the Winter Solstice!

“The Gifts of Christmas” Christmas Eve Service for All Ages
Tuesday, December 24th at 4:30pm
In this multigenerational service for all ages, we welcome children, youth, family members and young-at-heart to experience the stories and songs of Christmas. All will receive a special gift as we celebrate the gifts of Christmas.

"Amazing Peace" Christmas Eve Candlelight Service
December 24th at 6:00pm

Each year we light candles on Christmas Eve to invite faith, hope, joy and love. This year we invite a fifth guest—peace. In doing so, we hope for more than just the absence of war, but true peace. What would true peace look like and how might we find it?
